GRACE! GRACE!! (part two)

I have come to realise that Grace is a person. For those that would have been familiar with my writing, even in small chats, I write the word Grace with a capital 'G.' Jesus is Grace. Grace is underserved favour as well as mercy (Hebrews 4: 16). Grace is more than just using the word 'by GOD's Grace' when we want to tell people we'd be able to do something or be somewhere if GOD permits. Grace is divine empowerment/enablement.

Grace for me is recognising that because of Jesus, I have a divine enablement and empowerment to do what I want to do and/or ought to do and what I am not able to do by my own strength.

And because I am aware of this, it helps me to be humble and ask for help at every little turn (do you know it is pride if you feel you don't need GOD's help and can figure it out on your own?). The activities of this life are too much, too enormous for any human to be able to figure it out on our own, we need help (we were never created to figure it all out on our own). We need the help of the One who has treaded this earth before us; the One who through Him all things are created and without Him is nothing created that has been created (John 1: 1-2).

For me, I ask GOD for help for every little thing. I ask for help when I am cooking, I ask for help when I am looking for something, I ask for help when I want to make a call or receive a call from someone difficult. I ask for help at work. I ask the Holy Spirit to help me when I want to respond to my annoying son (though at times, I'm like, LORD, let me respond to a fool as a fool - Proverbs 26:4-5).

I ask for Grace and help from the Holy Spirit when my mind is being bombarded; when I am tired, when I don't know what to do? I ask for Grace about everything and anything. I simply just ask GOD to help me, telling Him I need Him.

Even today, Monday, 5th January 2026, I woke with a burden of so many things I needed to do in the day. I was worried but just turned it over to the LORD, asking for help to be able to do all that I needed to do. To the glory of GOD, He gave me a strategy and by His help, writing this blog is the last thing I needed to do today.

Grace is recognising that you and I are fallible, weak and would never always have all the answers but we have a GOD who has all knowledge and power and is available to help us, no matter what; and He's just a call away.

You know, my daughter is in 2nd year in university and almost every day she would call me, telling of this difficulty or that. It always broke my heart that she has a Resource that she's not taping into, though it gladdens my heart that we're close enough for her to call me to tell me the difficulty. I always told her, 'have you asked the Holy Spirit to help you with it? Have you asked the Holy Spirit to show you this or that?

The greatest Resource every believer in Christ has is the Holy Spirit. He's at our disposal, yet we struggle with everything.

This year, I want to take full advantage of the Holy Spirit - I want to ask for His help every second of the day. I want to tell Him that I need Him every hour and take up His offer of help. You know, Hebrews 4 talks about entering the rest of GOD. For me, entering the rest of GOD is walking consistently and constantly with the Spirit of GOD, asking for His help and doing as he says; trusting that He loves me and wants to help me, to make my life easier, peaceful and restful, guiding me and leading me beside the still waters.

Who will join me in 2026 in taking advantage of the presence of GOD in us? Grace in us is mercy and help in us.
